| The Evergreen Safety Council is a private, non-profit, non-governmental organization located in Seattle, Washington. We promote safe and healthy behaviors on the job, in our homes, and in all parts of our lives. Our goal is to reduce the injuries, suffering and losses that come with accidents. Evergreen serves the businesses, governmental entities, and communities of the States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska through the dissemination of safety and health information and the provision of safety and health training. Funding for Evergreen comes from membership and fees for service. Membership is open and encouraged for all businesses seeking to improve safety and health for workers, their families, and the community. |

- Encourage people with an interest in occupational safety to further their training and to recognize their continuing achievement with a certification.
- Prepare participants to apply for and take the nationally recognized Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) or Construction Health and Safety Technologist (CHST) examination for further professional and career enhancement.

| HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST CERTIFICATION |
 |
| This certification program is designed to provide participants with a solid foundation of knowledge in safety-related skills and activities. Each participant learns the general state and federal health and safety regulations affecting all business organizations. |
| Successful completion of the training series and award of the certificate prepares the participant to perform basic safety and health duties for the employer with confidence. |
| The certificate requirements consist of 24 safety and health topics, taught in 15 training sessions. Each session is 8 hours or one work day in length, covering one or two subjects. Courses are regularly scheduled in Seattle and Spokane on a monthly basis. A booklet is available on request that fully explains the program and requirements. Topics for certification include: |
